Review for Watermarke Apartments

DO NOT rent this Watermarke Apartment Complex. This is UNSAFE place to live and the Staffs TRY TO MAKE MONEY ON YOU (or try NOT to return your deposit money) when you move out and return the unit.

First, my apt unit got break in right after few week I had them to fix the bath tub caulk. The property manager, Eric, told me that there are other 2 units broken in just 1 week before my unit broken in. The police officer said there is total eight (8) burglary happened within 3 months in this Watermarke Apartment Complex.

Second, when my lease contract end, before I returned the unit, I clean up the unit VERY CLEAN with a good and acceptable condition (I had air freshener spaying every day and shampooed carpet every month). A janitor manager, Omar, was trying to make money on me by making up story about "a little bit smell in the unit"; at first he said he have to charge me $300 for 3 days ozone service. I totally disagree because there is NO SMELLING in my clean apartment unit. Then he tried to "negotiate" the price down to $125 for 2 days ozone service. This is absurd! My apartment unit is VERY CLEAN and there is NO SMELL or NO ODOR AT ALL. I told him that it's not my responsible to "clean the air" in my living unit before I move out and there is nothing defying/saying about "air cleaning" in the lease contract. I told the new property manager, Mandy, that I won't pay for a dime and the Watermarke have to return me back my deposit of $80 (only for the gate remote controls) within 30 days since the date I move out. I asked the management to get 2, 3 neighbors around to come in and see if they can "smell" anything in my unit but they couldn't dare to do that because they knew that my unit has NO SMELLING, and I knew that they just made up a "smell story" to try to make money on me. The property manager told me that her Corporate Manager said that they will have the carpet to be shampooed and re-painted the unit, after this done if the "smell" gone then they won't charge me for ozone service. Again, I reconfirm with her that I won't pay for anything and I expect my deposit will be refunded back to me within 30 days.

I am asking my attorney to write a letter to the Watermarke's Corporate Manager concerning about this issue. I look forward to hearing the result of this matter.
