Review for Overlook Apartments

DO NOT RENT these apartments. The apartments themselves are alright, but they're not worth the struggle you have to endure to live there. As long as you don't have to deal with anyone in the office, it's ok, but they will outright lie to you and tell you that it's your fault. I was told to pay a certain amount of rent, but then later told that I was late because I hadn't paid over one hundred dollars extra. The office staff had the audacity to tell me that I was being deceitful when I relied on the communication I received in their office.

Also beware that once your initial lease is up, that you must either sign a new year long lease (with a higher rent), or be charged over $100.00 extra to go month to month.

Another problem is that the office is always closed. They don't open until 9:00 am and are closed by 6:00 pm and are closed all day Saturday. It's impossible to talk to someone.

The Maintenance guys are nice, but they take forever to come and sometimes they have to come back a second time to fix a simple problem.

And I'm beginning to believe that they've slacked off on credit and background checks. When I moved in, everyone was nice and respectful, but they've let some rather unsavory people in the complex. I've got one neighbor that boasts of his time in jail and he left a car muffler on his front porch all fall and winter. Not to mention the partying that has begun to take place through all hours of the night.

The last thing that I hate about this apartment is that there is no enforcement regarding the disposal of dog feces. Dog owners are supposed to pick up after their dogs, but most do not and then maintenance doesn’t clean it up either. You CANNOT walk on the grass and people won't let their kids play outside because of all the feces on the grass.

My advice is to stay far far away from this place.
