These apartments are being advertised as "luxurious" (note to building owners and management: Look up the definition of "luxury"). The advertised "cherry cabinets" are not cherry. The "hardwood floors" are not real hardwood and the overall craftsmanship and attention to detail in this building is laughable. Racks fall right off the wall, hinges have paint all over them, apartment filthy upon move in. When you encounter the construction crew, as they pound and yell in the morning, you will soon realize that they are not skilled craftsmen. The hallways are yet to be renovated and have penciled graffiti on the walls. I assume this is the work of the workers because much of the writing is not English, and the crew is almost entirely foreign. On nights and weekends, tools, sheets of drywall, pieces of copper pipe, etc. are left out in the poorly lit hallways, an obvious hazard. There is one elevator for tenant use in the building which is extremely slow. To make matters worse, management allows the construction crew to use the tenant elevator throughout the day instead of restricting them to the freight elevator. On one occasion, I waited for ten minutes for the elevator before taking the stairs. If you do have a lapse of judgment and decide to live here, allow plenty of time each time you intend to go anywhere. The greatest problem of all is the management. If at first impression Mike seems a little unprofessional, trust your instincts. I you are unsure of whom I speak, he is the one who will show an apartment in a baseball cap and jeans. I do not know why he would be employed as a building manager in South Dakota, let alone the city of Chicago where a shirt and tie is the status quo. After you sign your lease do not expect to ever hear from him again unless he wants something from you.

So why do I live here? I had to find an expensive place at the very last minute for a short lease period. Would I recommend this place to any of my friends, or enemies for that matter...NO!
