Norris Management Sucks!

Reviewed by: Unhappy
Review Date: 9/11/2009
Rented: From 2008 To 2009

I have been renting from Norris Management since June of 2008. When I firt moved into the house there was a severe...I repeat...SEVERE tick infestation. They sent out Branaham's Pest Control...The pest control man told me I would need at LEAST 2 more treatments to get rid of the ticks. They refused to pay for those 2 treatments and I was forced to do it myself.

Then the washer and dryer in my home both were barely functioning. I called to complain but it is in the addendum to residential rental agreement that they are not responsible for the appliances. When I first signed the lease I asked about this...Because I had my own appliances. My own fridge, stove/oven, washer and dryer. I was told under NO circumstances would I be allowed to use my own appliances because should something happen the homeowner's warranty would not cover the damages. So I sold my appliances only to find out I'd need to buy a new washer and dryer. The fridge rattles and is on it's last leg and the stove works like shit. The built in microwave has never worked and is missing the glass plate. The kitchen drawer where your silverware is supposed to go is missing and only the drawer face is glued on instead. The dishwasher is hooked up incorrectly as well.

When I called and complained about this I was told the appliances were my responsibility and then Baby Huey aka Scott Lenderman chastized me telling me that he feels sorry for people like me who are unable to read.

I was very specific about the appliance deal when I spoke with Don Whitwell while signing the lease. In order to shut me up they sent a maintenance guy out to put furniture feet sliders under the washing machine to poorly attempt to level it. The washing machine agitated so violently it ripped the wash room door clean off.

Also upon move in there was broken glass and doors all over the garage, holes in the walls, writing on the walls and burn marks all over the carpet. YES I wrote all of this down and turned the report in the first week I lived there.

Then in July the AC goes out. Scott refused to return my calls for a whole week...Then after almost 2 weeks with no AC in 124 degrees they had someone fix the AC.

Last winter...The AC broke again, the heat was not working. I called and left message after message. I ended up having to purchase portable heaters for my house and went a whole month before they would even send someone out to fix it.

Then in May when I went to pay my rent they had me sign a renewal for my lease and told me that I signed something when I originally signed the lease saying I would pay $125 "re-application fee". I asked to pay at a later time because I wanted my attorney to go through my contract and the lease addendum renewing the lease before I paid anything of the sort. That sounded ridiculous to me...How can it cost that much to print up a one paragraph piece of paper?

So my contract says that rent is not considered late until the 6th of each month. I paid my September rent (this months rent) on the 4th. Coincidentially I received a letter in the mail on Wednesday dated September 4th saying my rent was past due, that I owed $925 plus $5 per day for late fees. My rent is only $800 a month. So I called Don to inquire. He says that I still owe the re-application fee for renewing my rent. Then he claims I received a notice in April prior to renewing my lease of the fee which was a complete lie. I received no such notice. They know my address, they could have sent me something certified if it was legally binding, which it is not.

After going back and forth arguing and involving my lawyer, today he finally "waived" the fee but claims next year he will force me to pay it before he'll renew my lease.

Well I have a hot flash for Don...I won't be renewing my lease! I don't trust them now, they are shady as fuck and Baby Huey aka Scott Lenderman, is enough to make ANYONE want to run for the hills.

DO NOT RENT FROM THESE SCAMMERS! THAT IS WHAT THEY ARE...SCAMMERS!!!

I am the epitome of a good tenant. I have never once paid my rent late...I have never had a complaint about me...I have the house in better condition than it was in when I moved in...I have not taken action against them for their violations of The Arizona Landlord Tenant Act regarding the heat, AC and bugs...I have put up with Baby Huey...THEY ARE LUCKY TO HAVE A TENANT LIKE ME! ESPECIALLY IN TODAY'S ECONOMY!

I will make sure to tell everyone I know how they operate...However most people I speak with either know OF them or have rented or worked FOR them and they all agree the place is poorly managed and Baby Huey is nothing more than an alcoholic spoiled rotten brat whose daddy pays his way through life and gives him a place at the company where he can suck his thumb and whine when he doesn't get his way.
