Weidner Apartments refuses to fix long-term problems like single pane windows and leaky plumbing, instead making the freezing cold lobby look like a Pier One in an effort to attract new tenants. Rent recently raised above market rates resulting in a barren appearance externally due to the main commercial tenant leaving. Recent rise in theft and other crimes in the building. Many apartments haven't been remodeled since the 1950's, and include 50 year old hardware. 'Galley Kitchen' would be generous, the stoves are half-width and many kitchens appear to have been made out of closets (the door frames are still in place). No parking included, they charge extra for that. There are also extra charges for higher apartments and south facing apartments.

The building is in a great location (one block from the state Capitol) and due to the high rent there are lots of vacancies. There are discounts for longer term contracts. Weidner maintains more normal office hours than the old owners, but only when there is a building manager (high turnover).
